BAD MOOD [24 Jun 2005|10:17am] So yesterday was interesting, I think I commite dto doing too much and I ended up just getting over whelmed and pissy! It was a good day though. Went to lunch with Danyel at Zaxby's and had a zalad which was as always YUMMY! Then we ran by both our houses to swop stuff for the trip and on the way passed these cute little kids selling sno cones (still haven't ever had one) and strawberries on the side of the road...Danyel insisted we stop and the whole experience made me smile! $25 for ice and suger syrup ... I opted for the starwberries which were aweseme (had some for breaky this morning) . Then after work met Joe in the tran parking lot and went back to his house in the Mr.2 -- such a fun car, I can't wait to take it to the beach next week -- New Orleanns is going to be AWESOME! So me, Joe and Kevin started at the hair pin, went up burned out cabin, Joe made me go first so he could try and make me get over the big log....which didn't happen as normal! From the top we did the family trails which were fun especially as I got to lead and I peddled my ass off trying to loose the boys ... am still not good enough...but it is amazing how much harder you try when someone is up your ass, then when you are at the abck of the pack. Then Jowe and I rode all the way down the mountain to his house...I LOVE DOING THAT! So much fun ...so FAST. On the way down ran into Matt, he was running instead of biking as his bike was chained up in the AdTran parking lot and he didn't have a key, so when all back at Joe... much confusion about what v=car we were using for the rest opf the evening , where we were going to eat, eventually decided to take the lude with my bike on top and go eat Schloskeys (stupid name, seriouse sandwich) Just as we fuinished dinner my Dad calls and wonders where we were cos dinner was ready ...WHAT? told both parental units that me and Joe would do our own thing ...so ahd to go home and eat another dinner so not to piss mum off! Was good pizza too! wish I hadn't already eaten ........during dinner yet again my dad is trying to convince us to take the house sized frame tent .....NO NO NO ...I don't want too...then tries to convince us to take van ..think at this point was just getting frustrated and didn't see the benefits of this option...I just wanted to meet Meredith and have a BEER! Anyway spent the next 45 mins listening to my dad try and convince us to take the bloody big van and AIR CONDITIONER ! WHAT! What is the point of an air conditioner on a camping trip, isn't the the point of a camping trip to get away from the stupid gigits and gagits we think we can't live with out and prove we can ....so agian NO NO NO don't want too. Finally got away from dad ...Meredith has now been waiting by herself at the bar for 50 mins! Oh well...she was still there when we got there so that was ok and I dance a little and drank a little ... and the boys convinced me taking the van was actually a good idea! So finish beer and go back to my house to sort the van out. Beer and single ciggy helped my irritation. So now the van is ready and set to go ...Dad ( who is actually awesoem and I love to death even though he can be frustrating) is taking the van to get an oil change for us then I have to pick it up before we all meet at AdTran to load up.....IT"S GOING TO BE ANOTHER FUN WEEKEND! I am so excited. Just need to not let myself get so worked up over nothing. Mum is worried I might be doing too much and am going to start getting sick agian... was sick all the time in college ...burning the candle at both ends ...... but tahts half the fun of living right to see how much living you can actually do in such a short amount of time. well I vented and I feel better and this is the longest post I have ever actually written. will give update on Monday about the crazy weekend Oh Matt and Joe decided to take an inflatable dingy and two hot pink paddles ... this could be amusing! post comment

Mud and Trees and Spazzy Moments [15 Jun 2005|07:45am] [ mood | ditzy ] So I got such encouraging response to my post yesterday that I feel I have to update! Plus Danyel keeps telling me to "write about it". OK so I have tell you about our biking adventure yesterday. So a group of 5 of us met early at the mountain to ride as Danyel is crazy and wanted to bike and dance! So as normal I was at the back of the pack and zipping around the family trail when a big patch of mud and I didn't really hit it off - fall #1, but I landed pretty much on my feet, just a bit shaky. My point about this fall was that I was trying to be a good girl and go right through the middle of the puddle so that I wasn't contributing to trail erosion (I had just been informed of this technique), however, my original plan of going around the mud has thus far not thrown me off my bike and it has allowed me to come out of the trail looking pretty clean (which apparently is not the aim of mountain biking - I'm still trying to get over my prissy girlyness!). After the family trails we came down burnt out cabin (BOC) - which for those of you reading and don't ride, is quite steep and scary to come down and a pain in the ass - quite literally - to get up, then we buzzed round some short loops one being through a creek bed (I think it was called the escalator?) and I caught up with Danyel at the bottom of BOC and I thought Danyel was going down the trail to take a run at the beginning of BOC but she disappeared! So I go down the trail and it splits into two and I was like crap! So I assumed they had gone to do another loop and that they would end up at BOC, so I went back to BOC and sat on a rock and waited, then these three other bickers came along and told me that the trail I was sat at the bottom of was in fact NOT BOC - WHOOPS! So I followed these guys down the trail and Matt's friend Rob was heading back down to make sure I hadn't fallen down the mountain (I felt stupid!) So I took the lead and was heading back through the trail and Rob warns me "there is a tree down" so I think I can take on the tree - NOPE! Over the handle bars - Rob said I fell very gracefully! But OW! Fall #2. Didn't do much damage, just a scarped up elbow and a couple more bruises! It's character building! And as Rob said quite rightfully it's two less fall in my future! I can quite proudly say that after yesterday's ride I did not smell like roses! 3 comments|post comment

My First Journal Entry [14 Jun 2005|09:29am] So I was going to have this really cool entry written by my awesome ghost writer but he lost his master piece on Sunday night when Danyel's computer did something funky! So mbarronj challenged me in his live journal post yesterday to carry on the story that he started. I am sure I will not be as insightful as Matt, as adventurous as Danyel, or as crazy as Molly in my posts and if you get bored at any point I will not be offended if you quite reading.
